DANCING IN THE RAIN

This anniversary session with Alaura & Nate was AMAZING. So incredibly beautiful, romantic and just warms my heart.

But let me tell you something really quickly…. on Alaura + Nate’s wedding day, it rained, no, POURED so hard all day, we weren’t even able to go outside for a second to take photos. The rain was coming down in buckets and sideways LOL! It was absolutely insane. Fortunately, they had a gorgeous wedding venue that we were able to photograph around in, but Alaura’s only desire was to photograph under ONE beautiful colored fall tree… Sadly, with the rain as bad as it was, there was no way we would be able to make that happen. It was so heartbreaking. Nate promised Alaura that for their anniversary, we would do a fall session, dancing under all the colored leaves.

So here we are, one year later, so excited in anticipation for their autumn anniversary and once again…………. it RAINED. HAHA!! OMG. We couldn’t even believe it. Even before the session, it only said a 20% chance of rain… and still, it rained. Thankfully Alaura & Nate are amazing people and literally just laughed it off and brought a clear umbrella to dance under! Rainy, autumn sessions are soooo beautiful and it really always does bring out the stunning colors, so we laughed, talked about what it’s like being married, and reminisced about their beautiful October wedding, just one year ago.

And Alaura & Nate have just resigned to the fact that it apparently will always rain on their special days. When Nate proposed, it rained. When we did their engagement photos, it snowed (which we wanted though, so that was so dreamy haha!). When they got married, it rained. When we photographed their anniversary, it rained. I guess God is just POURING His blessings on these two! Hehe :)
